Look upon Barcelona from the hightest peak – Tibidabo

After Parc Güell and Montjuic, I have discovered an amazing place to enjoy the view of Barcelona. Climbing Tibidabo, the tallest mountain nearby at 512 meters, is an enjoyable activity if you have time on a shiny day. Or you can use Tram Blau and funicular railway to reach the top. A better idea is to use a mountain bicicyle like many other dwellers do here.
There is an amusement park, a telecommunications tower (Torre de Collserola), and a Catholic church, the Temple de Sagrat Cor, at the top, all of which are visible from most of the city. The church has quite colorful pictures and the lamps give out different colors as well. The amusement park is so great but for people including me with fear of height, it’s only an awesome sight.
You can have something to eat or drink at a few restaurants and bars there or carry your own from the city center.

Getting there
We walked from Av. Tibidabo but not everyone can do that! 🙂
You can at least walk until the Plaça Doctor Arneu.

Starting from the Plaça de Catalunya you take the underground train (L7) to Av. Tibidabo, the last stop. Across the street from this station, there is a tram stop, from where a historic tram – the Tramvia Blau (Blue Tram) – runs up the hill to the Plaça Doctor Andreu, the starting point of the Funicular railway that takes you to the top of the Tibidabo, right near the Parc d’Attractions and Temple of Tibidabo.
